Weekly Pregnancy Update – 20 Weeks

How far along: 20w0d – HALFWAY!!!!

Baby’s size: 10.51 in. (crown to heel), 12.70 oz., about the size of a cantaloupe.

Total weight gain: I gained 1.3 lbs. last week so up 7.2 lbs. from egg retrieval.  My shirt today is a little baggy, so I think it’s making me look much larger than I am.  Or at least that’s what I’m telling myself.  And so far, I can still button my winter coat!

20 weeksMaternity clothes: I think this item can go away, you get it, I’m too big for regular clothing now.

Stretch marks: Still praying for none, and still slathering on the Mama Bee cream twice daily.

Sleep: Some nights great, other nights not so great.  I keep waking up on my back, so still trying to train myself to be a side sleeper.  I’ve noticed I sleep much better without Kona at my feet, or worse, half on top of me.  I love her, but she’s been sent to sleep in the living room often lately.

Symptoms/Feeling: Physically I’ve been feeling really good.  Sitting upright in the car for some reason seems to bother me, makes me feel like I have to pee, but otherwise I’m comfortable.  Still a bit out of breath walking into work, maybe I just need to slow down.  Speaking of motivation and exercise, I did receive the Fitbit Surge in the mail Saturday.  The short of it, the thing has some amazing features, but the watch itself it really bulky and the small was almost too small for me.  I’ll probably be sending it back and looking for an activity tracker that is a bit more comfortable to wear.  Does anyone have one they would recommend?  I’m really hoping for one with GPS that tracks heart rate without the extra chest band.

Best moment of this week: I put on a new pair of maternity pants this morning, and I actually didn’t hate how I looked!  But of course, I’m pretty sure Motherhood Maternity discontinued them, of course.  Should have purchased two pairs!  I emailed the store just to make sure, but I highly doubt they will have good news for me.

Miss anything: Energy.  I’m definitely not as sleepy as I was in the early weeks, but bed is still my favorite part of the day.  I’ll enjoy it now while I still can!

Movement: I’m still iffy on this.  When I get into bed at night I think I feel a bit of movement here and there if I’m really calm, but certainly nothing definitive or consistent, which worries me at this point.

Food cravings: Still stuck on oranges…

Anything making you queasy or sick: Food-wise no, but everyone’s comments about how my life is over as I know it is really getting annoying.  Apparently there are lots of people out there not willing to give up sleep in exchange for the love of children!

Have you started to show yet: Oh yes, this item can probably go away as well!

Gender: Girl

Labor signs: Heaven’s no!

Belly button in or out: In!

Wedding rings on or off: On!

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy most of the time, unless I’m at work and thus sitting next to Debbie Downer.  We haven’t spoken yet today, and I’m not complaining!

Looking forward to: Ultrasound is tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 9am.  So excited, but worried too.  God, please let everything be okay.

Purchases for baby:  The Baby Jogger Summit X3 arrived.  I ordered Orange, but Green arrived, and let me just say, Kohl’s policy on hassle-free returns is not exactly true.  Long story short, an orange one should be arriving soon.

Eric’s reactions:  I’m quite anxious to see his reactions to the ultrasound tomorrow…

  1. Yay halfway!
I still wouldn’t worry about the movement. . . especially if everything is ok with your doppler. I really didn’t feel anything solid till 22-ish weeks, and nothing consistent until 24. Do you know where your placenta is? That + positioning of the baby could be making it harder to feel.

  2. Good luck tomorrow at your appointment. This is one of the best appointments, its pretty incredible seeing the baby move around! You will have to post pictures!
Its hard to believe you are 20 weeks already! Once I hit 20 weeks it seems like the second half of the pregnancy went really fast, especially since it seems like every other week you are going to the doctor.

  3. Yay you’re halfway! I hope your ultrasound is great tomorrow and you start feeling her soon! It’s such an amazing feeling and I truly miss it! It was definitely my favorite part of being pregnant!
