Nadia is almost 23 months adjusted. And certainly not a baby anymore! She’s feisty and sweet! Still loves to cuddle, more so than Nora ever did, but is quick to yell, ‘get out’ when on the potty. She’s getting pretty good with peeing and pooping in the potty, at least during the day. In fact, she tells me she has to go way more often than she really does.. which is a pain, but I assume part of learning. She loves playing with her babies, watching ‘shows’ she calls them such as Mickey Mouse, and will now say bed when she’s ready to sleep for the night. Well, except for the past two nights which have involved many hours of rocking and several wakeful periods during the night. Maybe she is getting her two-year molars… I don’t dare feel in her mouth though, she likes to bite! Everyone says she’s looking more and more like me, but I don’t know, I always have a hard time seeing parents resemblances in children.
Sometimes I feel like Nadia is way behind where Nora was developmentally at this age, but then Nadia will do something that surprises me, like sing the entire ABC and Rock-A-Bye Baby songs. She will have one more visit with the high-risk NICU follow-up clinic in Iowa City closer to her original due date, October 30th. Hopefully they release us from their clinic and certify she is on-track. I still haven’t heard back from the cardiologist on her holter monitor results, but I’m not worried. Her heart has always been the least of our issues.
Look how long her hair is getting!
